From a crowded international field of over 200 applicants, the UK-based Loyalty Magazine has chosen to recognize Jérémie Vilain as one of the 30 most talented and high-potential customer loyalty specialists in the world right now.

Vilain was singled out for his seminal role in introducing data driven customer-centricity to the German food retailing sector.

The judges were particularly impressed by the 39-year-old Frenchman´s ability to deliver on the immense value potential of REWE´s unique customer base in Germany through 2 pillars:

  • Transforming PAYBACK at REWE from a traditional transactional reward program into a omnichannel personalization platform throughout the entire customer journey
  • Building up a state-of-the-art data science powerhouse at REWE, gathering data and intelligence about customers, connecting this information with other BI systems and utilizing it through advanced analytics to infuse effective customer-centricity into every dimension of REWE´s core retail business

REWE´s annual turnover via its customer loyalty program has reached an impressive 10 billion euros under Vilain´s tenure, leading to a remarkable 3-4 pp year-on-year growth rate for the retailer.
